How Soldiers Rescued Salawa Abeni’s Children From Robbery Attack

Over the weekend, some military officers in Lagos foiled a robbery attack on the children of veteran female musician, Salawa Abeni.

According to one of the victims, Sheriff Ilori, who is a rapper, the hoodlums smashed their car's windscreen and were about disposing them of their valuables, but for the prompt intervention of some soldiers.

Sheriff explained that he, his sister and her husband were on their to a function when the incident occurred at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos.

“I was out with the family (my sister and her husband). We were going for a family friends birthday dinner. There was traffic at that Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota.

“I noticed a guy was walking past as people walked about on a regular in Naija traffic and he came back and the next thing like eight guys came out and one of the guys put a device on the window to weaken it or crack it (I don't even know) and then used the handle of the gun smash the window and another guy was doing the exact same thing to the back window.

“They smashed it, did their thing but luckily for us some soldiers came out of nowhere and shot a couple of times and they fled. It was really scary, we Thank God nobody was hurt because those guys were not playing at all,” the rapper narrated.
