President Buhari Approves NAM Awards as Military pledges to End Insurgency in 3 Weeks.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the award of Nigerian Army Medal(NAM) to the Chief of Defence Staff, General G.A Olonisakin and the Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant General T.Y Buratai.

The Acting Director Amry Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman while briefing Newsmen in Abuja disclosed that the new Director of Military intelligence (DMI) Brigadier General ASH Sa'ad was also honoured with the Republic of Mali Award for his exceptional conduct while he served as a Nigerian Military attache in that Country.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Government is also honouring some officers and soldiers of 19 Battalion for their role that led to the bursting of a notorious robbery gang that terrorized the State.

On the misunderstanding between some loss-guarded soldiers and the general public, Colonel Usman assured that the Nigerian Army is working hard to improve its relationship with the public and would not tolerate any act of indiscipline or misconduct from its troops.

The Acting Director also re-assured President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians that the Army would definitely meet up with the 3 months deadline given by the president on 13th August 2015 to End the activities of Boko haram terrorists in the North Eastern part of the Country.

"We are working round the clock to meet up with the deadline in total synergy and cooperation with other services and security agencies".

"It is also in line with keeping faith with the public that we are working with renewed resolve to always keep you updated of our operations as well as other activities of the Nigerian Army".

While commending the tremendous sacrifice and gallantry of military troops in their various theatres of operations most especially in re-capturing Gomboru Ngala last week tuesday, he assured that the current leadership of the Nigerian Army is solidly behind them and would do all it could to enhance their welfare and performance.
