Governor Segun Oni of Ekiti has charged political office holders in the state to co-operate with the government in bringing development to the grass roots.

Oni made the appeal in Ado-Ekiti on Monday at the swearing-in of members of the state owned boards of parastatal and agencies.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that more than 30 boards of parastatal agencies with more than 150 indigenes of the state as members were inaugurated.

Oni, who reiterated the commitment of his administration toward improving the living standard of the people, urged the new board members to work toward fast-tracking the economic growth of their various constituencies.

“What we are doing is to ensure that as many people as possible are involved in governance, and you should be able to fill in the gap for your people.

“Be ready to help them, let them have a feel of government as well, and we should endeavour to help our people at the grass roots to ensure the joy goes round,'' he charged.
