Akpabio Jets Off To London Accompanied By Doctors

SAN FRANCISCO, September 01, (THEWILL) – Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio late Tuesday morning flew to London from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, in a private jet belonging to the Akwa Ibom State government accompanied by a cardiologist and a general doctor.

Akpabio was involved in a car crash early Monday morning, which left him briefly admitted at the trauma centre of the National Hospital in Abuja. Sources said Akpabio was traumatised and in shock after the crash which involved two SUVs.

Though doctors at the centre later gave him a clean bill of health and discharged him Monday evening, sources close to the former governor told www.thewillnigeria.com that he is going to a London hospital to seek further evaluation and possible treatment.

The United States Embassy in Abuja Monday evening said Akpabio's armoured Mercedes Benz G63 AMG crashed into an armoured Suburban SUV in a US diplomatic convoy at the Bollingo Hotel junction in the capital city. No one was killed in the crash which occurred at about 7.30 am.
