NYCN Constitutes Disciplinary Committee

BEVERLY HILLS, August 29, (THEWILL) – In her efforts to reposition the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to its rightful position in order to serve the Nigerian youths better and in compliance with the provisions of Article 22(4) of NYCN Constitution , the National Executive Council, NEC, of the NYCN has constituted a 7-Man Disciplinary Committee to address all acts of indiscipline being carried out in the Council by members of affiliate organisations and local chapters.

A statement issued weekend listed the Committee members who are representatives of their various Geo – Political Zones are as Alhaji Oladele Abdullateef (SW) Chairman; Comrade Kabiru Yusuf (NW) Member; Comrade. Charles Nwigbo (SE) Member; Comrade Abubakar Iliyasu (NE); Comrade Charles Ogile (NC); Comrade Johny S. Jonathan (SS) and Barr. Anderson Achilike (Secretary).

The Committee, according to the statement, is mandated to receive and review petitions of all acts of indiscipline against the operational ethics and constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, and make appropriate recommendation to the National Executive Council.

It added that the Committee is expected to carry out its assignment and submit its report to the National Executive Council, NEC, within seven working days as it directed all affiliate member organisations, local chapters and the general public to submit their petitions to the Committee Secretary.

β€œThe NEC hereby urged the Committee to carry out this assignment without any fear nor favour and we also advise you to adopt high level of decorum with the mindset of rebuilding a new NYCN, The Committee is hereby directed to liaise with Barrister Sulaiman Abubakar, National Legal Adviser for further briefing and other logistics,” the statement signed by NYCN Public Relations Officer, Chris C. Ibe, also said.
