Premium Times Reporter Robbed In P/Harcourt

As the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) begins it s full council meeting in Port-Hacourt, River State \, Premium Times reporter who is also the Secretary SWAN in Adamawa state Mr Austin Ajayi narrowly escaped death when 3 men in taxi robbed him of all his belongings last night in the garden city.

Narrating his experience to members of of Sport Writers who had converged for their full council meeting, Austin Ajayi said" as soon as i entered the vehicle the man sitting at the back seat pointed a gun at me and asked me to cooperate or they will kill"

"When i was that they were with gun i handled every thing to them,the incident happened at about 12 midnight when i was trying to locate the hotel booked for the delegates at off Liberation Road between Air Force gate and the Hotel which is less than 400m "

"The bus i entered from Yola got to Aba by 8:30 pm but because of the heavy hold up i was able to get to P/H some few minutes to 12 mod night"

"The experience is better imagined than explained, all my cloths shoe ipad, phones and cash including Premium Times identity Card and the NUJ National Identity card for 2015 were taken from me".

SWAN National President Mr. Saidu Abubakar while condemning the robbery attack called on the River state government and other states to always provide security for journalists holding functions in their state.

He charged the Nigeria Police to be more proactive in carrying out their activitiesthe matter has since being reported to the police.
