Zannah: Borno Mourns,Declares Monday Work Free

SAN FRANCISCO, August 16, (THEWILL) – Monday has been declared a work free and mourning day by the Borno State Government.

This is to allow civil servants and the people of the state attend the third day prayers for the repose of the soul of the state deputy governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, who died in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, Saturday morning, and was buried in Maiduguri in the evening of same day.

Declaring the work free day in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa, Sunday, the government said; “During the third day prayers scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Deputy Governor's official residence in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Maiduguri, flags will be lowered at half-mast for the entire work free and mourning day

in Borno state.
“Essential services in the health and fire services sectors, are however; not affected by this announcement of public holiday to mourn our Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zanna Mustapha.”
