By Jerry Needam

The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has charged workers in the State not to relent in their support for the administration of Governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike who is doing his best to make life better for them.

Speaking while receiving workers of Ogba extraction from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) who paid him a thank you visit at his office in Port Harcourt on Friday, Bro Obuah urged them to remain firm and committed to their duties as these were the hallmarks of the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Barr. Wike.

He advised the workers who came under the auspices of Ogba Workers Association (OWA) that as good ambassadors of Ogbaland, they should strive for excellence, even as he reiterated that there is dignity in labour.

The Sole Administrator enjoined his kinsmen to be diligent in their various assignments, as posterity would celebrate them if they did the needful.

He further charged them to be guided by what he said was his philosophy, ‘He whom the cap fits, let him wear it’, adding that this philosophy formed the criteria for promotions and aspirations.

Bro. Obuah however told the workers that much was still expected from them, noting it was time for Ogba to rise above the present level of development both in the State and nation.

“You must rise above your comfort zones and strive to leave a legacy for yourselves and Ogbaland. Ogba have natural endowments more than all other ethnic groups in the State” he said.

The RIWAMA boss further advised Ogba people not to segregate among themselves as Ogba was one strong and indivisible entity.

His words, “Igburu man should see himself as part of Usomini, just as the Egi man and Omoku man are one and the same. They should borrow a cue from the other ethnic nationalities in the State”.

Speaking earlier, the OWA delegation led by the chairman, Engr. Kingdom Umah said they were at the RIWAMA office to congratulate Bro Felix Obuah for his appointment as Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency and numerous achievements both as Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state as well as Sole Administrator of RIWAMA.

The group told Bro. Obuah to extend their heartfelt thanks to Governor Nyesom Wike for appointing their sons into his administration. Aside from the appointment of Bro Felix Obuah as Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, the group also named Chief Oris Onyiri, Chairman Civil Service Commission, James Enebeli and Anthony Nweyilobu who were sworn in as Permanent Secretaries.

Members of the OWA who joined their Chairman, Engr. Kingdom Umah on the trip include: Nwohali Okwu, Ikoro Isaac, Evangelist Gift Nkweke, Godwin Nnah, Peace Amana, Dr. Felix Igwe, Barr. Chukwuma Ajie and Barr. Edwin Jonathan.
