PRESIDENT BUHARI TO RE-POSITION NSCDC TO MEET NIGERIA'S SECURITY CHALLENGES

President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his commitment to re-positioning the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps to meet the security needs of Nigerians and the Country at large.

A statement signed by the CD PRO, Emmanuel Okeh made available to The Nigerian Voice in Abuja, said The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu disclosed this after the successful pulling-out Ceremony of his predecessor Dr. Ade Abolurin.

Abdullahi further stated that in support of Mr. President’s drive in tackling corruption, his administration will ensure zero tolerance to corruption through the Anti-Corruption and ACTU Units in fighting the scourge to a standstill.

He therefore charged personnel of the corps not to relent in carrying out their assigned duties to the fullest especially in the fight against vandalism, illegal bunkering, oil theft and protection of critical national infrastructure.

According to the statement, the CD further urged personnel of the corps to remain committed, resolute and firm in the discharge of their duties.

The statement added that Abdullahi assured the personnel of his desire to build on the existing structure laid by his former boss in taking the Corps higher to the next level, stressing that staff welfare remains his priority.

It stated that he also pledged his commitment to the service of the nation and the growth of the Corps.
