Forgery: Adamawa Lawmaker In Certificate Scandals

A member representing Uba/Gaya constituency of Hong LGA in the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammad Hayatu Atiku is in another scandal of forging a B.Sc in Mathematics obtained from Ahmadu Bello university, Zaria in April 2008.

Investigations revealed that Atiku was a dropped out student in ABU when he was in two hundreds level in the university but remained a ghost student until he was final expel from the school.

A concern citizen from Uba, Abubakar Said Umar told our reporter in confidence that some aggrieved opponents of the members has petitioned the Adamawa Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja against this matter and ABU Zaria has since testified before the tribunal that the certificate was forged.

"Seeing the ugly trend of events surrounding this issue, some individuals who are said to be marshalling support to president Buhari's anti-corruption war also petitioned ABU Zaria for verification and it was verified via a report from ABU Zaria that the said member was not indeed a graduate of the institution." Umar said

Umar further said that the circumstances surrounding the manner in which this man was smuggled into the state House of Assembly complex for swearing-in need to be investigated so as to ascertain how he was aided by some security personnel that ordinarily were supposed to arrest and arraign him for prosecution.

Umar cautioned that if people with dent character will be allowed to be part of this administration, it will indeed temper with the change slogan of APC and Buhari as a person whose image of integrity is internationally accepted.

Before now Atiku had earlier been dragged to court for election irregularities to win the last election.

This is coming when the law makers yesterday passed a vote of confidence to the speaker and his deputy, Ibrahim Mijinyawa and Sunday Peter.

All effort to contact him was not possible as all his telephone lines were always forwarding calls and was always not on seat when you get to his office.
