Boko Haram: The Principal of FGGC Yola praised INGO for given scholarship to 2,400 IDPs

The Principal of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Yola, Mrs Zulekatu Usman Momodu has praised an international non Governmental organisation (INGO) run by the former British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, for given scholarship to 2,400 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the country.

The gesture came up by the help of Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and NEMA. They are serving as the implentation agencies of the program which is aiming at saving the girl chil Education from the North-east that were displaced because of Boko Haram attacks.

According to her 800 hundreds IDPs on the scholarship were spreads accross all the unity schools in the country were FGGC Yola received a total number of 46 students from Borno,Yobe and Adamawa who are the worst hit of insurgents attacks in the country.

"The program is called safe school initiative it came up as a result of Boko Haram attacks in the North-eastern region of the country in other to sustained the girl child Education".Momodu said

She further said that the 46 students were fully integrated in the school system, were a sort of feel at home training was given to them as they must have went through a lot of odeals that made their socio psychological reasoning been affected and traumatised.

"I specially set a community that will give them a constant counselling being the fact that many of them came with a lot of inferiority complex in them and the level of their exposure is very low virtually performing below expectations in all subjects".

"We are making sure their total being is properly handled and well address and God they are serously improving".She added

She thank the Federal Government for standing firm on fighting the war against insurgents and appealed well spirited individuals to give more scholarship to IDPs as the present number of scholarship is nothing home about compare to the thousands of school age children who are been displaced because of insurgents attacks.

Mean while Mrs Zulekatu has already been known to have shape the entire school and repositioned it for academics excellence.Record have shown last year to have graduated over 80 percent in both WAEC and NECO who have university requirements.
