Secure The Nation’s Pipelines And Clamp Down On Child Traffickers -- Abia State Governor Tells Security And Civil Defence Corps

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has charged officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to intensify effort at securing the nation’s pipelines and clamping down on child traffickers in the state.

The Governor gave the charge when he received in audience the new commandant of the NSCDC, Abia state command, Dr Benito Eze who called on him.

He commended the corps on her operations against pipeline vandalism in the state and advised them to share intelligence with other security agencies and the state government to ensure adequate protection of the NNPC pipelines as well as fighting child trafficking.

The Abia state chief executive pledged to partner with the civil Defence as well as to support them in enhancing their operations in the state.

Earlier in his speech, the commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia state command, Dr Benito Eze who congratulated the Governor on his emergence requested for the state government’s continued logistic support to enable them carry out effective patrol of the NNPC pipelines in the state.

He disclosed that the command recently rescued over 80 pregnant girls from child traffickers and pledged to discharge his duties according to the law.
