Minister Paradis Signs Mutual Accountability Framework with Ethiopia

OTTAWA, Canada, July 17, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, signs a mutual accountability framework (MAF) with Ahmed Shide, Ethiopia's State Minister of Finance and Economic Development, on the margins of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development.

This MAF signals both countries' commitment to the achievement of measurable development results in areas of food security and agricultural growth, and sustainable economic growth. In addition, it encourages progress in terms of gender equality, environmental sustainability and democracy and human rights.

“This mutual accountability framework recognizes Canada's commitment to stable development assistance in line with the priorities of the Government of Ethiopia,” said Minister Paradis. “In turn, the Government of Ethiopia commits to achieving measurable development results and progress on key issues benefiting the Ethiopian people.”
