Delta Dissolves DESOPADEC Board

SAN FRANCISCO, July 14, (THEWILL) – The Delta State Government has dissolved the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPPADEC) with immediate effect.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Festus Agas, announced the dissolution in a press statement, which said state Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, gave the directive.

The SSG directed all board members of the commission to handover all government's assets in their possession including vehicles to the commission's secretary.

The Governor had after his inauguration said he would restructure the commission and has since sent an amendment bill to the state house of assembly to that effect.
