BEVERLY HILLS, July 13, (THEWILL) –  Retired Major-General Mohammed Babagana Munguno has been appointed as Nigeria's new National Security Adviser (NSA) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mungono's appointment will be announced momentarily, THEWILL sources said.

As at the time of writing this report, Munguno was still inside the Presidential villa meeting with the President.

Gen. Munguno, from Borno State, a former Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) and ex-Chief of Logistics, Defence Headquarters, voluntarily retired from the Nigerian Army in September 23, 2013 on attaining the age ceiling of 56 years.

Military sources told THEWILL that he was one of the finest officers to emerge from the Nigerian army.

He takes over from retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, who was relieved of his post Monday (today).
