Rivers INEC deliberately mixing-up 2015 election materials

By Chris Finebone

Faced with a bleak prospect of having no cogent and verifiable evidence of having held elections in Rivers State last March 28 and April 11, the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], in collusion with the PDP, has now decided to cause further confusion by deliberately mixing up sensitive materials to make it difficult for inspection by the APC legal team and the election tribunal.

We recall that the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dame Gesila Khan and her top Directors have been working so hard in collusion with the PDP to forge a wide range of sensitive documents to support the results the INEC declared in favour of the PDP in the March 28 and April 11 general elections. The range of document being forged include result sheets, voters’ registers, thumb printed ballot papers, incident forms and others.

Two months after the April 11 elections, the INEC in Rivers State and the PDP are yet to succeed in forging enough numbers of sensitive materials to match what was declared as results of those phantom elections.

However, the INEC having suspected that the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal would grant the APC the right to inspect materials used in those manipulated elections and having not completed their forgeries as desired by them, the INEC has now resorted to mixing up supposed sensitive materials allegedly used in the elections. For example, presidential, senatorial, representative, governorship and state assembly ballot papers are now deliberately mixed up and bagged in huge sack bags in a way that would be extremely difficult to sort for inspection.

In any case, we doubt whether this last minute attempt by the INEC and PDP to hide their malfeasance of last March and April will yield any positive result for them.. A dying horse will always attempt some kicks.

The APC earlier had warned that INEC was colluding with PDP to carry out massive forgery of election sensitive materials to justify what were declared as Senatorial, House of Representatives, Governorship and State Assembly election results in Rivers State.

The APC would like to gladly recall that just yesterday, Justice Muazu Abdulkadir Pindiga of the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja granted the request of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate in the April 11, 2015 Governorship Election in the State, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, to inspect election materials including Card Readers used for the election.

We believe that the hard journey to retrieve our stolen mandates has started on a promising and sure note. Indeed, it is only a matter of time before justice arrives our beloved Rivers State.
