Admiral Murtala Nyako Received A Heroic Welcome As He Returned To Adamawa State
The people of Adamawa came out in their thousands and gave Admiral Murtala Nyako a Heroic welcome, callling and chanting him with celebrated names.
Nyako who returned to Yola, Saturday around 8am after spending many days visiting the office of EFCC to cleared the air on why he left the country for some couple of months ago.
He received a Jubilations galore as tears of joy role on the faces of thousands of people who began wild celebration in the Adamawa state capital when news filtered in that the former Governor of Adamawa state, and retired Naval Admiral Murtala Nyako, arrived the Yola International Airport on Saturday amidst supporters and well wishers.
The large turnout of people had throng the Airport as earlier 8am when security had a hectic job handling the people, when his plane touched down the crowd surged into the tarmac to catch a glimpse of the retired Deputy Chief of Defense Staff.
Security men battled relentlessly to control the crowd when Admiral Nyako stepped out of the plane and shouts of sai Baba rents the air.
It will be recalled that Nyako left the state on self exiled to Europe following his controversial impeachment in June last year supported by PDP led federal government of ex president Goodluck Jonathan even though he had insisted that he was not served personally.
Before the controversial impeachment allegations of financial inducement of some members of the Adamawa state House of Assembly over N1.5B which exchanged hands from the Jonathan Presidency to facilitate his hasty impeachment.
Nyako who drove straight in a long convoy of cars to the Specialist Hospital and Federal Medical Centre Yola to console victims of Thursday bomb blast, prayed for them to recover quickly.
Addressing a crowd of supporters who besieged his residence, Nyako thanked them for the show of support and solidarity during his controversial impeachment and after.
Nyako said that he has been vindicated in view of what had so far happened since his removal up to the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan.
"We advice them (Jonathan administration) but they took offense and have seen the result, I told Goodluck Jonathan that they he was going was wrong but instead they sponsored a sham impeachment of my Government instead of listening to me, Jonathan had made grievous mistakes but he refused to listen to wise counsel”
" I want to thank the people of Adamawa for their contribution in voting PDP out. We now need to support big brother Buhari who is reliable to deliver", Nyako said.
On the sham impeachment Admiral Nyako said, “I have forgiven all those who had a hand in my impeachment it was the will of Allah therefore I put all that behind me but look forward to support All Progressive Congress Government from counselor to the President so that APC can change the current ugly situation Nigerians have found themselves in”
On the Economic and Financial Crime Commission Admiral Nyako said, “All through my Government I had no dollar account or any account outside Nigeria; I did not build any house outside Nigeria and my account is less than N2m anywhere and i challenged anyone to go and investigate so Aim not afraid of any investigation”
