PDP crisis: Jonathan wades in, meets with National Working Commitee

By The Rainbow

Adamu Muazu, National Chairman, PDP
President Goodluck Jonathan  met with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Wednesday night, as part of efforts to resolve the crisis bedeviling the party.

The meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reports indicate that  members of the committee started arriving  for the meeting that was said to be  'private' and not for media coverage around 6 PM.

It was not clear when the meeting ended.
There have been blame games in the party following its poor performance  at the polls.

Most members of the party want   the PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu'azu and other members of the NWC to resign to the way for the injection of fresh ideas to the party.

But the NWC members have insisted that they are going nowhere till the expiration of their tenure in 2016.

They have tried to absolve themselves from the blame over the party’s poor showing, while pointing to  the presidency for the woes that befell the party during the election.

As a result of the raging crisis,  Mu'azu and members of the committee were not at the Presidential Villa when the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation's  report was presented by its Director General, Ahmadu Ali to President Jonathan on April 30.

There are been reports that some elements in the party are even tryig to breakaway and form a new party as a result of the crisis.
