By Onuoha Noel Ikenna

Chief of Staff, Imo State Government has charged members of the Destiny Organization in Owerri North local government area on the need to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC) so as to enjoy the same benefits entitled to bonafide members of the party.

Sir Ejiogu gave this directive while addressing members of Destiny Organization, Owerri North Chapter who paid him a courtesy visit at his Umuakuru Emekuku home town, led by the Coordinator, Mr. Peter Benson.

The Chief of Staff while describing the last minute support of the organization to the APC and the visit as a homecoming also charged them to continue to remain steadfast in ensuring the cooperation of members in the LGA, and affirmed the visit as a moral boost.

He said, “I want to use this medium to assure every member of this noble organization that as the Apex Leader of Owerri Federal Constituency, everybody will be carried along without discrimination. Our government will remember and recognize your presence. This unity you have initiated is for good and we must sustain it. You have remained consistent as a member of Destiny Organization, and we want you to show the same gesture in our great party, the APC”.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Coordinator of Destiny Organization in Owerri North LGA, Mr. Peter Benson said that their decision to support candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Owelle Rochas Okorocha in the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state was as a result of the organization’s believe for fairness, which according to him was devoid of deceit.

Mr. Benson therefore recalled all humiliation members of the organization passed through due to the desperation inherent amongst members of the Peoples Democratic Party, describing their former party as a platform that lacks good conduct and due process. He said that Sir Ejiogu has remained a leader that is cherished by all and sundry, and cited open door leadership style as of the COS as second to none.

In their separate speeches, former Chairman of Owerri North LGA, Chief Austin Achilike, Paddy Obinna, Victor Ekeanyanwu and Onyewuchi Opigwe commended the Chief of Staff for attracting massive construction and rehabilitation of their roads, as well as other relevant projects, appealing to other leaders to emulate him.

Meanwhile, Sir Ejiogu has charged All Progressive Congress (APC) members in Owerri North council area and the entire Owerri Federal Constituency to be hardworking and remain patience if their interest was to achieve the objectives of the party in the area, describing their corporation so far as commendable.

Sir Ejiogu made this appeal while receiving Awaka / Ihitta Ward APC leaders who paid him a courtesy visit at his home town, Umuakuru Emekuku to thank him for all his financial and moral supports during and after the just concluded 2015 general elections in the state which they said, necessitated the victory of the party in the area.

The Chief of Staff therefore expressed joy that the people of the Ward resisted every form of inducement to buy them over in a bid to truncate the wishes of the masses, pointing out that they demonstrated high level of commitment by voting massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the gesture as evidence of trust and dedication.

He advised the leadership of APC in Awaka/Ihitta Ward not to discriminate against any person willing to join the party, pointing out that everyone should be given a level playing field as to achieve the objectives of the party. He thanked them for remembering his good works and promised to do more by giving appointment and employment opportunities to their people since they could appreciate the little done so far.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chairman of APC in Awaka/Ihitta Ward, Owerri North, Mr. Chidiebere Iwueke said that his people voted massively for the All Progressives Congress because of the giant strides Sir Ejiogu has recorded within the period he has stayed in government, pointing out that a good number of people from his Ward were appointed to prominent positions in the rescue mission administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Mr. Iwueke further maintained that his people would ever remain grateful to him for the gesture, assuring that they would do everything possible in ensuring that members of other political parties who did not support the party during the just concluded 2015 general elections but willing to re-join APC were carried along, and thanked Sir Ejiogu for his foresight aimed at bringing their people to the mainstream of Imo politics.

The APC Chairman while handing over gift items to Sir Ejiogu on behalf of the people of Awaka/Ihitta Ward as a demonstration of their happiness for the favour his area is receiving under the present administration, further recalled activities of previous governments in the state in carrying everybody along, but regretted that past leaders under PDP only centered their programmes on personal aggrandizement different from the all inclusive governance of Sir Ejiogu.

Contributing separately, APC Vice Chairman of the Ward, Chief Ben Ejiogu, Woman Leader, Chief (Mrs.) Pretty Emezi and Secretary of the party, Tochi Enwere commended the Chief of Staff for his courage in bringing everybody together without minding party differences, maintaining that if PDP leaders had done the same without allowing greed to overshadow their political linens, the entire Owerri North and the constituency would have been developed beyond its present condition.

Highlights of the event were the handing over of valuable gift items to the Chief of Staff, Sir Ejiogu and the appointment of Dr. Ray Achodo as the new Ward facilitator for Awaka/Ihitta with the mandate to reposition and re-integrate every aggrieved member in a bid to sustain the victory tempo in the area.
