Re: Tele Ikuru Orders Abduction, Assasination Of His Former Spokesman

The attention of His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr. Tele Ikuru has been drawn to some spurious allegations making the rounds in the news media.

Indeed, responding to the allegations raised by an erstwhile casual staff of his Excellency may not have been an option, except that the accusations are baseless and an assault directed on the office and person of the Deputy Governor.

In keeping the records straight, let it be to your notice that Mr. Godswill Jumbo was a casual staff who was graciously engaged by the Deputy Governor and saved from joblessness. He served as his acting press secretary. He was later sacked by his Excellency Engr. Tele Ikuru for ethical issues bothering on serious professional misconduct, theft, criminality and total lack of capacity to handle the demands of his office.

Let it be on record that Godswill Jumbo was known to have stolen several items in the office of the Deputy Governor while he was working with him. He continued to escape detection until he was finally caught on closed-circuit-television-cameras (CCTV) installed in the Deputy Governor’s office (evidence available). He thereafter replaced the stolen items and asked for forgiveness which the Deputy Governor graciously gave with the hope that he will change his ways. This did not happen as it seems stealing is already in his blood. In addition Mr. Jumbo converted the monthly overhead of his office to fund clandestine operations thereby leaving the office to suffer. He was severally warned to turn a new leaf.

Following his dismissal from office on March 14th, 2015, the Permanent Secretary in the office of the Deputy Governor called Mr. Jumbo to return all official properties in his possession (car, laptop and office keys etc) which he refused to do. The

Chief Detail to the Deputy Governor also sent him several messages asking him to return the said items, all to no avail. His Excellency, Engr. Tele Ikuru had to personally call Mr. Jumbo twice to return the properties to enable him conclude his inventory to the in-coming administration. As usual Mr. Jumbo ignored him.

In the face of these unwarranted behaviors His Excellency had no choice than to report the matter to the police. Although he eloped on six occasions, he was finally arrested on Friday May 8, 2015.

It is not surprising to know that Godswill Jumbo is a member of APC. These seem to be the type of characters APC embraces into its fold. Known thieves and criminals. I wish him well in his future endeavor.

His Excellency, Engr. Tele Ikuru vehemently denies allegations of attempted abduction and assassination leveled against him by Mr. Godswill Jumbo. It is unfounded, untrue, misleading and considered as an attempt to malign his character and image through the media and call on law enforcement agencies to unravel the truth behind Mr. Jumbo’s tantrums.

The Deputy Governor is a man of character and integrity and cannot be swayed by the antics of Mr. Godswill Jumbo and his Co-travelers.
