AFTERMATH OF 2015 POLL: Isu Youths congratulate Okorocha, Obiefule

Following the declaration of Governor Rochas Okorocha and Mrs. Ngozi Obiefule as winners in the 2015 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections respectively in Imo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, youths from Isu local government area under the umbrella of “ISU YOUTH EMANCIPATION MOVEMENT (IYEM)” have joined millions of Nigerians in congratulating them on their emergence.

In a release signed by the President, Barr D.C.C. Ogbenna and the Isu LGA coordinator, Festus N.N Onukuba and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the movement described their victory as an overwhelming gratitude by the people of the state on the level of their giant strides, and thanked them for reciprocating the gesture.

Barr Ogbenna while commending the achievements of the rescue mission administration in the state also applauded the free education programme and other relevant amenities the government has put in place for the alleviation of poverty in the society, appealing to the people to continue to support him for more dividends of democracy.

On the emergence of member for Isu state constituency, Mrs. Ngozi Obiefule, the youths described it as a new dawn of new democracy in the local government, saying that by her victory, she had written her name in gold as first female lawmaker in the council.

The youths therefore appealed to Governor Okorocha and Mrs. Obiefule to carry everyone along in the governance of the state, advising that government should not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that industries and skill acquisition centers were set up, which according to them would gear towards engaging the teeming youths into meaningful businesses.

In conclusion, the youths recalled the performance of Mrs. Obiefule as mayor of “Akah City” and expressed optimism that she would do better, citing her experience in previous positions as reasons for her performance.
