FCT Names Abuja Roads After Jonathan, Sambo, Dangote, Anan Others

BEVERLY HILLS, April 27, (THEWILL) – In what appears to be a parting gift to the ruling elites and associates of the outgoing federal government, the FCT administration Monday announced the naming of several roads and streets in various parts of the nation's capital after outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo, Africa's richest man and businessman, Aliko Dangote, former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Anan, as well as about 25 other eminent personalities including members of the ruling party, past and serving leadership of the National Assembly and the Judiciary.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Bala Mohammed who disclosed the development in Abuja said the administration decided to honour the recipients for their service to Nigeria and Africa.

He said the yet to be commissioned Inner Southern Expressway was named after the President, while a key road in the Wuye District was named after the Vice President.

Several other roads in the Asokoro Extension, Guzape, Wupa, Wuye and Maitama Extension districts as well as highways were named after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; PDP national Chairman, Adamu Muazu; deceased former Senate President, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo; former Speaker of House of Representatives and Katsina State Governor-elect, Hon. Aminu Bello Masari; former Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Dahiru Musdapha; former Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi; Deceased South African anti-Apartheid activist, Walter Sisulu, and several others.
