PDP Berates Magnus Abe For Offering Bribe To False Election Witnesses

By Rivers State PDP

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says the failed Rivers South/East Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Magnus Abe is offering some Pastors and Chiefs of Ogoni huge sums of money as an inducement to petition to the State Election Tribunal that no elections took place in the area.

Berating Senator Abe for desperately wanting to remain in office even against the wish of his people through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, the State PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah warned against such surreptitious moves to plunge the State into unnecessary chaos after the APC had failed in its pre-election propaganda to incite the people and even during the elections to carry arms against the State.

The PDP State chairman reminded Senator Abe that he who goes to equity should go with clean hands as his ugly past in Ogoni is still common knowledge which accounted for his woeful outing at the Senatorial polls.

Both Senator Abe and the APC according to Bro. Felix Obuah should also know that the proof of whether or not elections took place in Ogoni goes beyond the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) each of the false witnesses he has assembled is being paid.

Continuing, the PDP State chairman said: It had never been lost on us that Senator Magnus Abe would resort to such fraudulent act. That has been his stock in trade, but good a thing, this, as usual has been exposed even before he finished sharing the dirty loot.

The PDP State boss however warned that such willing tools who have been paid the paltry sum of N200,000.00 each to bear false witness to discredit elections that were hailed by both local and foreign observers as free, fair and credible should beware, stressing that the offence of perjury still remains a serious crime in the country.

“Nonetheless, we are not afraid to confront such false witnesses at the tribunal but they should equally be ready to face the consequences of their sinister action after”, Bro Obuah declared.
