Commendation On Peace Initiative By The International Community And Nigeria Peace Committee: An Official Statement By Abraham’s Children Foundation Nigeria

Abraham’s Children Foundation appreciates the peace initiative by the International Community and Nigeria Peace Committee that resulted in the peaceful conduct of 2015 election in Nigeria. We sincerely thank the European Union Observers, African Union Observers, ECOWAS Observers, USAID, UK AID or DFID, UNDP and Nigeria Peace Committee led by General Abdusalami Abubakar (GCON) for all effort and resources put in place for 2015 peaceful election in Nigeria.

The phone call by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the President elect General Muhammadu Buhari was a historic humanitarian event that must be celebrated by the International Community. It was a victory not only to democracy in Nigeria but also a live saving to women, children, youths and the aged persons. It was a cost saving decision to the International Community that the greatest humanitarian human made tragedy was avoided.

West African nations, Chad and Cameroon will no longer face an increased number of refugees from Nigeria and the bills in Millions of Dollars to take care of the refugees by United Nations or International Community will never come. It is our prayers that what was achieved in Nigeria for women and children be extended to women and children in Syria, Libya, Ukraine, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

We sincerely thank the International Community and Nigeria Peace Committee for making President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the President Elect great democrats that deserve a Noble Peace Prize for 2015. We believe that the outgoing President will help the President Elect and the International Community in maintaining peace in the Niger Delta if given the International responsibility of United Nations peace Representative.

The Trustees, Zonal Coordinators and State Directors of Abraham’s Children Foundation network in Nigeria will work with the International Community, USAID, DFID and Nigeria Peace Committee to ensure that peace efforts initiated by them is maintain in the next four years.
