BEVERLY HILLS, April 09, (THEWILL) – Speaker Emeritus and the Senatorial Candidate of the Accord Party in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei has urged his avid supporters statewide to eschew all bitterness and vote overwhelmingly for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday's governorship election in the state.

Ochei in a statement on Thursday appealed to his supporters across the state to cast their votes for Okowa, saying he represents the Anioma aspiration in the election slated for April 11.

Ochei said, “If our recent political dynamics has taught us anything, it is that our democracy endures when strong people make sacrifices for the greater good just like President Goodluck Jonathan's historic concession and congratulatory call to General Muhammadu Buhari midway into the announcement of results of the presidential election, which in no small way helped to avert the predicted doomsday in our dear nation.

“In Delta State and Anioma nation in particular, I am calling our teeming supporters to follow in the footsteps of greatness by eschewing all bitterness and feelings of betrayal and focus on delivering Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State on Saturday 11th April.

“After the last Senatorial election, my personal sense of outrage over our stolen mandate, which by the grace of God we shall reclaim through the judiciary, did not and will not blind me to the general sentiments and aspiration of the Anioma people, who desire above all else, to be equal partners and stakeholders in our Delta dream.

“The embodiment of that aspiration today is Senator Okowa of the PDP. I urge our understanding and passionate supporters from across the state to stand with me in this decision as we continue to build the Delta of our dreams, where every person irrespective of gender and tribe is treated equally according to the dictates of natural justice.

“Equity, fairness, oneness and belonging are higher motivation than our personal ambition. God bless us all.”
