SAN FRANCISCO, March 28, (THEWILL)  – Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State and his wife, Roli,  were accredited and later voted in the governor's home town, Ugborodo, in Warri North Local Government Area about mid-day on Saturday and had no problem going through the card reader .

The card reader, Uduaghan said, worked for him and his wife as they later cast their votes about 3:28pm .

Commending the exercise, the  governor said in spite of the initial delay, following the late arrival of materials, all went well at his polling booth.

In other areas of the state, voting began in Okumagba area of Warri around 2pm with the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor voting in at the Nana College and GRA respectively.

Accreditation and subsequent election in Warri and environs were mostly peaceful but for pockets of fracas and violence.

In Udu, Udu Local Government Area, a former council transition chairman, Raymond Edijala, was attacked and stabbed by hoodlums . He was later rushed to hospital by sympathisers.

Uduaghan said elections were therefore suspended there. In Ethiope West and East Local Government Areas (Ethiope Federal Constituency), the House of Representatives election was put on hold because the INEC officials there were supplied with wrong materials.
