Those Denying Okorocha’s Free Education Are Insane – Imsu Students

By Uche Onwuchekwa

Students of Imo State students have lampooned the claim by opposition that there is no free education at all levels especially in State owned tertiary institutions describing such as insane.

This statement was made when student group under the aegis of Law Students Association paid a solidarity visit to Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere at his lodge yesterday.

Speaking during the visit, the President of the Association, Mr. Amandi Franklin, a 500 level Law Student in the Imo State University, commended Governor Okorocha and his deputy prince Eze Madumere for their quality leadership skills.

He averred that Imo State before now has never it so good in the area of good governance and dividends of democracy especially in the area of free and qualitative education, saying it was borne out of Owelle Rochas Okorocha's vision and sacrifice.

He therefore chided those spreading lies that there is no free education in Imo State describing those behind it as wicked and insane.

“It is unbelievably abnormal for anyone to peddle the wicked lies that there is no free education in Imo state owned tertiary institutions. I am a final year law Student of Imo State University and I know that I paid school fees under Ikedi Ohakim's regime before the emergence of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Government. We have seen the mischievous propaganda material being circulated around. To our greatest dismay, they do this from the hiding. We have challenged them to come out and face the students who are the ultimate beneficiaries. I have heard some of them shamelessly make illogical argument. I can only say that this is nothing but wicked and insane.”

He therefore assured Imo deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere of students supports while calling on all students to tell their parents the truth so as not to be causing disaffection in the system.

In the same vein, Orji Stephen, another 500 level law student from Ihitte-Uboma who is the Speaker of the legislative arm of the Law Students body in his allusion to biblical promise of a messiah, he said at every era and for every group of people, God has always sent his people a messiah. He mentioned the gifts of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dee Sam Mbakwe and Owelle Rochas Okorocha with his Deputy, prince Eze madumere.

He showered encomium on the duo encouraging them never to give in, in their quest to making generational history that will remain indelible in the sands of time. He however chided those he described as the enemies of progress to put a stop to their nefarious activities against the people oriented government. He warned them of the danger of students' wrath while challenging them to open debate on whether education is free or not.

He described the claim that there is no free education in Imo State as baseless, querying the political goal the people behind the act intend reaping from mere lies.

In her submission, Miss Mbawuike Fortune, a 400 level law student from Obowo Local Government Area revealed she had only paid school fees for once. She averred that what is paramount to them is to go out and expose the liars since the crusade can only be pursued by the beneficiaries like them. She said their aim is to ensure that visionless and pseudo-leaders are kept far away from Imo government and beyond.

The high point of the solidarity visit was the recognition of Imo Deputy Governor and running mate of Gov. Okorocha, Prince Eze Madumere as “the All Time Best Deputy Governor” for his humility, working relationship and sterling leadership qualities.

In his response, the African Personality of the Year thanked the Law students for their truthful disposition in the whole affair. He also promised to take their goodwill messages to the Governor of the State, owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha.
