Governor Obiano Donates Buses to Catholic Women

The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has donated two Toyota Coaster Buses to Catholic Women Organization Awka Diocese in fulfillment of his promise to the organization. The buses were presented to the organization on behalf of the Governor Obiano by his wife, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano Friday evening at the governors Lodge Amawbia.

Speaking while handing over keys to the buses, Mrs. Obiano said that the buses were meant to aid the CWO in their work of evangelization especially amongst women in the Catholic Church.

The governor's wife told the women that her husband is a gender sensitive governor who is genuinely concerned about the welfare of women According Mrs. Obiano, " the governor gives women due recognition in every aspect of governance in Anambra state, that is why he appointed many women to positions of authority and responsibility."

‎Mrs. Obiano further told the CWO that governor Obiano is committed to the total development of Anambra and therefore deserves the support of all groups including women at all levels to ensure the election of competent people to work with the governor. She urged them to go and tell their members why it is important to support candidates of the All Progressives Alliance (APGA) and President Jonathan in the February 2015 elections.

Receiving the Bus keys on behalf of the members, ‎Director, CWO Awka Diocese, Mrs. Apollonia Chukwuma, thanked governor Obiano for coming to the rescue of the CWO with the two Toyota Coaster buses. Speaking further Mrs. Chukwuma said," The mere look on our faces attests to the happiness we feel. Whenever we use these buses we will remember you in our prayers. We are all witnesses to the good works of the governor and your good self his wife‎. Rest assured of our total support always."

The CWO Director told the wife of the governor that Awka Diocese has over 70,000 women and assured her that they will vote President Jonathan and all APGA candidates during the elections.
