SAN FRANCISCO, February 01, (THEWILL) – As preparations for the February polls gather momentum, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Sunday urged the people of Udu Local Government and Warri South-West Council Area of the state not to vote for those he described as “runaway politicians.”

Okowa said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only consistent party in the state, stressing that the opposition politicians have become strangers in their homeland as they only come home every four years to run election.

Speaking at Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South-West Council, Okowa said; “We will win again because we are the consistent party, we are the only party that they know. Our people in Delta State know only the PDP, they don't know of any other party. Because we know our God, we will win, those other people contesting don't know God and because they don't know God, they will fail but for us we know God.”

Okowa who raised a song; “ Standing on the rock” to buttress his point that the PDP is rooted in the solid foundation of God, said that “it shall be well” with Deltans if he is elected to govern the state in the next four years.

Okowa said the PDP is one “big family” in Warri South-West Council and other part of the state, adding that all those who were aggrieved have been reconciled and agreed to work for the victory of the party in the state.

“There is no more “uhuhu” here because we have all reconciled. I can see some of our brothers who were in the opposition party here today and others who were aggrieved are here and have agreed to work for us,” Okowa said.

He said that his administration when elected will develop agriculture, create industries, support technical education and empower the youths and women in agriculture, micro-credit to be self-reliant.

While soliciting for vote for all PDP candidates, Okowa urged the people to vote enmasse for the party come February 14 and 28, adding that “as you bless us with your votes, we will bless you with basic infrastructure, agricultural programmes, micro-credit facilities, technical education, health insurance and other dividends of democracy.”

At Ovwian Grammar School, venue of the campaign rally in Udu Council, Okowa asked the people to shame the devil by voting enmasse for the PDP, saying the opposition party had nothing to offer them.

Okowa while singing the song; “I can see everything turning around,” said; “They told us that Udu people voted for us only in the last re-run election but I know that things have change and it has changed for good.

“We mean well for you, we would continue to partner with Udu people to bring development to your doorsteps. Cast your vote for us….we know a combination of Sefia and Ogbaburhon, will deliver Udu for PDP,” he said.

Wife of the state governor, Deaconess Roli Uduaghan, who also spoke at the rally, urged the Udu people to vote massively for the PDP to consolidate the good works of the outgoing PDP-led administration, particularly to enable the incoming administration complete the gigantic Oleri Leisure Park project .

She therefore urged the people of Udu to disappoint those who said Udu people don't vote PDP.

Also speaking at the rally, the incumbent member representing Udu/Ughelli Federal Constituency, Hon Austin Ogbaburhon, urged the people to go for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) that would enable them exercise their franchise on the election day.

Meanwhile, a group, Otuaro Women Vanguard (OWV), has thrown its weight behind Okowa and running mate Otuaro.

The group in a statement issued weekend signed by its leaders, Mrs. Doris Bozimor and Hon. Mrs. Rose Tulu, said all women of Ijaw nation, including pregnant women and nursing mothers, will come massively to vote for the duo of Okowa and Otuaro.

“We the entire Ijaw women of Delta state are overwhelmed with the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Barr Kingsley Otuaro as Governorship candidate of PDP and Deputy respectively and we will ensure that we vote 100 percent for them and also protect our votes against devourers.

“We believe that the government of Okowa/Otuaro will be the best government because they will definitely attract even development to the doorsteps of all Deltans and ensure that stomach infrastructure will rise to 100 percent,” the statement said.
