SAN FRANCISCO, January 30, (THEWILL) – Barely four months after he was sworn into office, the Edo State Commissioner for Investment, Public and private Partnership, Mr. Denis Idahosa has resigned his commission and defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Idahosa was sworn in on September 24, 2014, by Governor Adams Oshiomhole as part of efforts to attract new foreign investors to Edo State.

The Governor had charged him to use his wealth of experience to attract investors to the state.

PDP state chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, received Idahosa, who announced his defection to the PDP at the party's secretariat Friday afternoon alongside some other defectors from the APC in his Ovia constituency.

PDP spokesman in the state, Chris Nehikhare in a BBM broadcast quoted the defecting commissioner as saying he left the APC-led government and the party because of the financial recklessness of Governor Oshiomhole.
