Uruan, Ibesikpo Asutan Mobilize Support For Udom Emmanuel,pdp Candidates

The governorship campaign of Mr Udom Emmanuel on Tuesday received a boost, following a spate of endorsements by the people of Uruan and Ibesikpo Asutan local government areas.

In the areas visited, stakeholders, women, youth and the royal fathers affirmed their complete support to the election of Udom Emmanuel as the next governor of the State.

At Uruan Local Government Mini Stadium, a scheme known as Operation Five over Five was launched and dedicated to the victory of PDP Presidential Candidate, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for Governor Akwa Ibom State, and Mr Bassey Albert as Senator for Uyo Senatorial District, Dr. Mike Enyong for Uyo Federal Constituency and Aniekan Bassey for Uruan State Constituency.

According to the Commissioner for Transport Prince Godwin Ntukude, Chairman of Uruan Mr. Tony Akan, and other stakeholders, the area was totally committed to returning all candidates put forward by the PDP describing the candidates as the best for the State.

Among Uruan leaders who affirmed their support for Udom, included the PDP Chapter Chairman, Prince Edinyanga Atakpo, women leader Barr. Uduak Effiong, former Council boss, Dr. Eventus Edem.

Addressing the rally, the Political Leader of Uruan, Obong Ekpe Atakpo revealed that the elders and royal fathers in the area are completely behind the success of the PDP in the general elections.

Responding, the PDP Governorship Standard bearer, Mr Udom Emmanuel assured Uruan people of the new dispensation of Sustainable development.

He noted the challenges in Uruan and maintained that his administration will consolidate on infrastructural and manpower development, youth and women empowerments among other programmes and promised that the 16 kilometre Mbiaya, Ibiaku, Idu, Ishiet, Mbiakong and Adadia roads as well as Itu Mbang and Ayaedehe road all in Uruan would receive his attention.

He also revealed that Nyong Essien science school will be transformed into a model entrepreneurial centre, maintaining that only the PDP candidates have carried out a survey of the entire state and can guarantee the development of the state.

On Agriculture, Udom promised the hardworking women of Uruan of his readiness to partner with investors to institute large scale mechanized farming in the State and further assured that the Uruan beach will be transformed to a tourist attraction.

At Nung Udoe, the headquarters of Ibesikpo Asutan, Mr Udom Emmanuel listed human capacity development, consolidation, sustainable development and infrastructural development as some of his cardinal programmes.

He promised to construct the Ikot Akpa Etok-Afaha Etok road with a link to the Tropicana Complex if voted as governor and also announced his readiness to transform the area through a robust Agriculture policy.

The People of Ibesikpo including the Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan, Ekpe James, House of Assembly Member Eyakeno Etukudo, the Youth Leader David Johnson and Chairman Technical School Board Barr Comfort Etuk among others, thanked Governor Akpabio for the construction of the Aka – Nung Udoe Road, noting that their decision to support PDP was borne out of the good governance they have enjoyed in the State.

While pledging to deliver their 65,000 votes to the PDP, the Ibesikpo people publicly denounce APC and vowed to mobilize the electorate in the area for the PDP candidates.

Earlier, the wife of the State Governor Mrs Ekaete Unoma Akpabio urged the people to distance themselves from the opposition politics and to support the election of President Goodluck Jonathan, Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates.
