Nigeria Won't Be Ruled By Ethnic, Religious Bigot—Adeyeye

Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has declared that Nigeria , a country of ethnic and religious diversity cannot be ruled by someone who sees the country from the angle of religion and ethnicity.

The minister said "the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari has proven overtime that he does not believe in the unity of Nigeria and it will be suicidal for such a person to govern the country.”

"It was Buhari's hatred for the Yoruba people that made him cancel the Lagos Metroline Project, humiliated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade for traveling abroad and jailed our leaders, includind former Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande for doing nothing."

Adeyeye, who urged Nigerians to support the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, added that "future of Nigeria is brighter with President Jonathan in office for another for years."

He blamed Buhari for the violence that occurred after the 2011 election, saying; "despite several calls made to General Buhari to calm his supporters during the post election violence, he refused and so the mayhem continued."

He challenged Buhari to point to one single project that he executed during his two years in office” adding that "Buhari was rather concerned with flogging Nigerians who are queuing for rice.”

The minister said unlike Buhari, who did nothing when he was a military ruler, “President Goodluck Jonathan has performed creditably very well in the past four years”,

He said since the beginning of this democratic dispensation, Jonathan had done better than any other person, adding that he 6 resolutely confident and very assured that the Peoples Democratic Party will win the election.
