It is not the best of time for Dumebi Kachikwu, the Ex son-in-law of the

former Minister of Aviation and the current National Woman leader of the

People's Democratic Party, PDP, Mrs. Kema Chikwe, as the Economic and

Financial Crimes Commission EFCC is set to commence the criminal trial of

the alleged fraudster.

industrial action.
According to source from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

EFCC, the accused person in his confessional statement made useful

assertions that he collected the said sum from the petitioner and

deposited to the company account of a PDP chieftain.

Our source indicates that the EFCC has so far recovered partly sum of One

Hundred Million Naira, (100, 000, 000.00), out of the Seven Hundred and

Fifty Million (750, 000,000,00.) obtained from Ndudi Elumelu, Chairman

House Committee on Health, by the accused person Dumebi Kachikwu.

The money was laundered through Skye Bank Plc, in a purported company name

(Runola Nigerian Limited).
The purported company through which the money was laundered is believed to

be owned by a member of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) who hails

from South-South Nigeria.
However, it has dawned on the accused person that the EFCC has established

a prima facie case against him, he is now sending emissaries to plead with

the petitioner, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, to withdraw the matter.

The former son-in-law to the ex- aviation minister, Kema Chikwe, Dumebi

Kachikwu, an Abuja-based multi-millionaire who was arrested on the evening

of Friday, January 9th when he turned himself over to EFCC custody.

EFCC operatives had previously raided his No 27 Gana Street, Maitama,

Abuja home in the early hours of same day and executed a search warrant of

the property.
On December 23, 2004 the EFCC had invited Kachikwu for questioning

following a petition from Ndudi Elumelu, Chairman House of Representatives

Committee on Health, who until recently was governorship aspirant in Delta

State.
The petitioner claimed that Kachikwu fleeced him of N750million under the

guise of helping him to actualize his dream of emerging flag bearer of the

PDP in Delta State. Dumebi Kachikwu is a business associate of a national

vice chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to emerging reports, Kachikwu had allegedly flaunted his

connection to bigwigs of the PDP at national and state levels, telling the

petitioner that he needed the money to persuade the executives of the

party in supporting his political ambitions in Delta State. However,

Kachikwu failed to deliver on his promise as the complainant was unable to

secure a coveted political position in Delta State.
