…Promises Effective Representation At The Senate
SAN FRANCISCO, January 17, (THEWILL) – Ahead the February general elections, a foremost Delta North senatorial candidate and the immediate past Speaker of the Delta Sate House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Ochei, has enjoined the Anioma nation to return President Goodluck Jonathan to Aso Villa as President, as well as ensuring that Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa becomes the governor of Delta State by voting en masse for the duo during the February elections.

He made the call while addressing political faithful at Obiaruku and Ashaka respectively during consultative visits to the Ukwuani and Ndokwa East Local Government Areas of the Delta North Senatorial district of Delta State in furtherance of electioneering as the suitable person to represent the senatorial zonal at the hallowed red chamber of the National Assembly on the platform of the Accord Party (AP).

Rt. Hon. Ochei premised his call on the fact that President Jonathan has acquitted himself creditably in transformational governance in diverse sectors, and as such should be returned to complete the task of placing Nigeria on the prime spot in the comity of nations.

The legislator equally urged the electorate to ensure that Senator (Dr) Okowa wins the governorship election in Delta State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, considering the fact that as a senator, Dr Okowa's commendable contributions at plenary provides justification for his emergence as the next governor of the state.

He further disclosed that his decision to vie for the senatorial seat stemmed from the need to provide the Delta North Senatorial zone the opportunity of producing a governor of Anioma extraction and equally assuring credible and effective representation of the Anioma nation at the hallowed upper chamber of the National Assembly.

According to him, “I was inundated with overtures of support from several groups within the state to run for the governorship on another party against Dr Okowa, but I realised that such a venture would backfire as the Anioma votes will be split, which will invariably diminish Anioma's chances of producing the governor.”

Rt. Hon. Ochei also maintained that the Anioma nation is endowed with people of excellence in diverse fields of human endeavour, and as such should elect a senator who will not debase the Dr Okowa's landmark achievementsin the senate, adding that with his twelve years of legislative experience and rising to the highest position of Speaker of the Delta State Legislature, the people of Delta North should be assured of effective representation as the National Assembly is about making laws for the good governance of the Nigerian people.

He therefore pledged to ensure that the people of the senatorial zone get the dividends of democracy with particular emphasis on the Ndokwa and Ukwuani Federal Constituency, where much Federal presence is most desired, especially the dearth of good roads, youth empowerment and environmental degradation arising from the oil prospecting activities within the area.
