Nigerian Army assures on safety during and after February elections

The Nigerian military says it was putting everything in place to guarantee the safety of lives and property of the citizens of the country in the course of next month's general elections and afterwards.

The Director of Defense Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, who was speaking in an interview in Abuja, assured that “All considerations are on to put in whatever is required to comply with the security requirements of the nation in relations to elections or all other socio-economic activities.”

The Defense spokesperson who pointed out that the military was doing its best regarding the counter-terrorism operations in the North-East submitted that “Everybody is doing his best and trying to improve and reverse any noted setback.”
