The chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah delightfully wishes to thank the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area for the warm reception given to the Party and its Governorship candidate, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike during the flag-off of its 2015 election campaign Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Overwhelmed by the unprecedented large turn-out for the event at Isiokpo, the traditional headquarters of the Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, and home council of the outgoing governor of the State, Gov Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the PDP chairman through a statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media said it has been reassured of the grassroots support for both the party and its governorship flag-bearer, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike.

The Party said the rally was also a sort of popularity test between the PDP and Amaechi's All Progressives Congress, APC, stressing that the massive support for Nyesom Wike and his running mate, Dr Mrs Ipalibo-Harry Banigo in Amaechi's bedroom shows that the APC is virtually non-existent in the State.

The PDP enjoined the people to maintain the tempo, reassuring that all their complaints and prayers must be given priority consideration by the PDP administration.

“You must however be wary of the scheming and deceit of enemies of our people who may try to confuse you as a last minute attempt by thump printing on the slot for Umbrella symbol of the PDP on February 14 for President Jonathan and February 28 for Chief Barr. Wike for Governor as well as other PDP candidates”, the PDP chairman, Obuah advised.

Jerry Needam
