SAN FRANCISCO, December 26, (THEWILL) – Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as well as those widowed and orphaned by the insurgency in the Northeast have been urged to see their present situation as a temporary one.

They have been told to seek solace in the assurance of a better future in the heavenly home as promised in the Scriptures.

“You have no homes, no usual celebrating with loved ones and family friends, no annual family reunion and meetings as usual, you are forced to live in a state of hopelessness.”

“But be consoled that your sorrowful hearts have been transformed into foundations of great bliss as your names have been written in the book of life in heaven even as you suffer pains and rejection on earth, ” the Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Maiduguri, Oliver Dashe Doeme, told the IDPs who are mostly from Pulka, Madagali, Gulak, Michika and Mubi in the Adamawa part of the Catholic diocese.”

Doeme stated this Thursday during the Christmas mass in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, as he encouraged the Catholic faithful who had embarked on a long trek to come and express their faith despite the restrictions on vehicular movement in the town.
