2014 Yuletide: Mark urges renewed prayer for the nation

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has urged Nigerians not to despair by the myriads of challenges but “to renew faith in God because through prayers and cooperation with each other, we can surmount our problems .”

He said the situation at the moment does not call for blame games but a unity of purpose and support to authorities to overcome the challenges.

Senator Mark praised the indomitable spirit of Nigerians in the face of these challenges and urged them to use the season of Chritmas to spread the message of love, peace , sacrifices and care for one another which Jesus Christ symbolizes.

These were the messages he sent to his BENUE South Constituents in Agatu, Apa and OHIMINI local government areas when he distributed food stuffs through his Wife, Helen Mark under his end of year reach out to the people PROGRAMME 2014.

Senator Mark told his people to remain steadfast in prayers and support to the present administration saying ” we must continue to maintain peace and order . We must re dedicate ourselves to the onerous task of building a progressive and United Nigeria of our dreams.

” What our nation is experiencing presently is the fallout of the deficiency of love and tolerance. We must come together in one accord to confront all forms of socio-vices and insurgency ravaging our land”.

He reiterated that any aggrieved persons or groups need not to carry arms or take laws into his or her hands when there are enough channels including the law courts and the National Assembly to address such issues.

Earlier in their separate remarks, the Chairmen of Agatu, Apa and Ohimini local government councils; Mr. Patrick Elem, Mr. M.T. Yoosu and Mr. Andrew Ejeh expressed appreciation to the Senate President for the yearly gesture of reaching out to the constituents and pledged their support and loyalty .

Thousands of bags of rice and other grains were distributed to the various councils in the constituency.
