FG declares public holidays for Christmas, New Year

The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, 2014, as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations.

Similarly, January 1, 2015 has been declared a public holiday to mark the New Year.

The Minister of Interior,  Abba Moro, who made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja, enjoined all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Christmas, which are love, peace, justice, kindness to their daily lives and through this contribute to the development of the nation.

Moro further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country.

He wished all Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year celebrations.
