2015: Tinubu gambles with Osun, may play the 2011 card

Source: pointblanknews.com

There are strong indications that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu may want to do a

deal with the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), concerning Osun State as

the digging by the Tribunal progresses.
Pointblanknews.com sources hinted that the Tribunal had discovered wide

spread irregularities during the Osun govership polls, and most of the

fraudulent ballots allegedly belongs to Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The Tribunal hearing the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP,

candidate in the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, Senator

Iyiola Omisore has already admitted in evidence as exhibit a subpoena and

four sacks of ballot papers used during the election in Ilesa East local

council.
It was further learnt that while the PDP candidate, Omisore's prayer is

for the tribunal to declare him winner, in the event that it is

established that he had more votes, the Aregbesola's camp is curiously

asking for a re-run.
And then enter the Tinubu angle. Sources said that the leader of the All

Progressive Congress (APC), is more interested in holding on to the states

controlled by his original Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Those close to Tinubu hinted that the loss of Ekiti was considered

disastrous by him, and a chink in his armor, therefore would do all he

could not to allow Osun fall in the hands of the PDP. According to our

source, Tinubu is lukewarm about the center despite his public utterances.

His main agenda is to hold on to the South West.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that Tinubu is proposing something similar to

2011, where he held on to his states while they gave PDP the votes for the

Presidential election. Tinubu wants the PDP to prevail on Omisore to back

down, with a promise that the party would vote President Goodluck

Jonathan. It is not clear how both parties will approach the tribunal

however.
But there are three problems. First ,is Jonathan who is an advocate of

fairness at the polls. Sources hinted that Jonathan's position is, whoever

won should be declared winner. Secondly, the candidate , Omisore, is

insisting he would not be part of any deal, thereby throwing in the trash

can any proposal of “settlement” to him. Third , how do they factor in the

members of the tribunal who already have the facts of the case.

Tinubu is also facing another upheal task with who emerges the party's

presidential candidate come December 8. As it stands, sources said he is

caught between Aminu Tambuwal and Muhammadu Buhari.

Pointblanknew.com gathered that months ago, Tinubu was disposed to

Abubakar Atiku. But veiled threats by the Buhari camp made him backtrack.
