COALITION MOVES TO MAKE ALIMIKHENA SENATOR

A coalition of forces under the aegies of Edo progressive movement on Friday met, urging Edo state governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and leaders of the all progressive congress ?(APC) to base their choice of the next governor on the core attributes of competence, integrity, courage, initiative and focus.

In a meeting held in Akoko-Edo headquarters of Owan local government area and home town of the incumbent senator Obande, discuss the political future of Edo North. The zoning arrangement and to assess the physical, social and institutional infrastructural provisions in the senatorial district. The group vowed to enthrone only God fearing and oriented people in leadership position in the state.

The governor is from Etsako and once the governor tenure is over it means Etsako will be out both at the senate and in government house. The zoning arrangement must stand. Alimikhena is suitable for the senatorial job. He has devoted his life to humanitarian and philanthropic services. He has empowered youth and mold our future leaders.

Spoke person of the movement Hon. Andre Aigbe said “Alimikhena would address the developmental issues that have affected the level of opportunity available to our youth, galvanize the people to self development, energize the economy of our area and raise the standard of living of our people through adequate inter-village communication such as good road network, electricity, pipe-born water, recreational facilities, public libraries and re-introduction of the mobile library services that has brought set back to our villages.

Alimikhena will build our human capital development, establish capacity building institutions, increase rural output, create employment opportunities and root out cases of ignorance through youth skill acquisition centers and free public, libraries to enhance research and self development in every local government within Edo North senatorial districts.

On their parts, some members of the student union government from the Auchi polytechnic who were present said Alimikhena have the backing and support of all Edo North student across various institution in the state. We have acquired enough political structure through door to door sensitization that will enable him become our senator. Other union and students leaders who spoke urge Alimikhena not to be move by the endorsement of any aspirant by any group. We were the coalition group that fought for the right of our Comrade governor. It is time to fight for our own senatorial district the group said.
