Sheriff's Brother Submits APC Nomination Form For Reps Bid In Borno
A brother to former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, Alhaji Mohammed Nur Sheriff has submitted his nomination form and expression of interest to contest for House of Representative for Bama, Kala- Balge and Ngala federal Constituency under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in next year's general elections.
Submitting the form to the Chairman of the APC in Borno at the Party's secretariat in Maiduguri amidst thousands of his supporters, Nur said he was compelled to contest for the seat to deliver the people of his constituency who have been denied federal presence in terms of infrastructural development by the incumbents lack of good representation by , Hon. Abdulrahaman Terab who formally defected along side ex-governor Sheriff on Monday into the PDP fold.
The political aspirant who hopes to secure the ticket for the 2015 general elections under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has promised to lead by example if he wins.
Nur promised quality representation if he gets elected into the country's Lower Legislative Chamber, and assured his people that their interest and that of the constituency will be his priority if given the mandate.
Governance, according to him, should not be left in the hands of people who run down the affairs of the constituency and brought so much hardship on the citizenry, adding that, he will ensure that issues of water scarcity, bad road network, lack of electricity and poverty are addressed during his tenure if given such a mandate.
Responding, the APC Chairman Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, represented by the Secretary, Alhaji Bello Ayuba described Nur, as a politician of repute and called on the people to rally around him to ensure he realise his ambition to win the seat come 2015.
" We have been receiving many aspirants in this office, but with the crowd that accompanied Mohammed Nur Sheriff today it is clear that he is a true democrat and a man of the people. We in the APC will give you maximum support to see that your dreams come true.
"Our party is the party to beat and I want to tell you that we are not going to forfeit a winning slot to any opposition party in the state next year". Bello said.
