Exclusive: I Won’t Help Any Artistes Again—D’Tunes Reveals

Recently, viral reports had it that hit making music producer, Doyin Adesanya aka D'tunes, was involved in music (beat) piracy which was used to produce a hit song 'Gentleman' for singer, Sean Tizzle.

In an exclusive chat with Nollywoodgists.com, the handsome and gentle music producer, revealed that though he actually knows the artiste by name Portah, a student of Lead City University, but never stole his beat, rather wanted to help his career gain the minimum attention to introducing him to a friend who needed an artiste to sign on his new record label.

According to him, “I invited him to my studio because a friend of mine wanted to start a label and was looking for an artiste to sign. He's a good artiste, so I suggested him. But my friend didn't know him, I sent him the tracks he had released previously and he wanted to hear more, that is why I invited him to my studio. He dropped some songs and I mailed them to my friend and the rest is history.”

D'tunes explained that the beat he produced for Sean Tizzle's 'Gentleman' track has no correlation with any of the beats in Portah's song, adding that he is not in a business of stealing people's intellectual properties.

The music producer explained that what people don't know is that he receives calls, text, mails and other notifications from artistes, all in a bid to attain stardom. “You can imagine the amount of upcoming artistes that give me their songs to listen to, to assist their career anyway I can. But since that incident happened, I have told my team I don't want to see anyone anymore. No more Mr. nice guy.”

Furthermore, as at the time of filling in this report, all efforts to reach the singer, Portah, was not fruitful as both of his lines were not going through.

Meanwhile, what the recent trend of internet scam on various social media platform, D'tunes has called on fans to be careful as people have been using his name to collect money from prospective artistes who crave for fast stardom. He revealed that his real facebook account is 'Doyin D'Tunes Adesanya."
