FELABRATION!

Sometime ago, I wrote this:

"THE KUTI FAMILY
The death of Dr. Beko Ransome- Kuti has once again highlighted the uniqueness of the Kuti family.

The three brothers were all phenomenal and justifiably eccentric in their own rights.

Even Fela, the proud and unrepentant hemp smoker who often went around semi-naked.

His preference for being partially clothed rather than being fully dressed was perhaps a form of escapism from the heat and stuffiness of Nigeria's anomy.

His love of marihuana was probably an avoidance mechanism so that as he experienced auditory, visual and olfactory hallucinations from marihuana use, he could, momentarily, hear what others were not hearing, see what others were not seeing, and smell what others did not smell.

Fela`s addiction for hemp smoking must have been a deluded attempt at dousing the stench in the land"!

And now my summation....
Expectedly for daring to call the looters of our treasury to order, such looters ensured that he suffered untold hardship....that even rubbed off on his associates, his kith and his kin! His Kalakuta Republic was raided and razed! His female band members were beaten and raped! Even his aged and frail mother was not spared! She was ingloriously thrown off the second-floor balcony, fracturing her leg in the process! She later died of the complications of that trauma.
Unfortunately, the military brute who ruled this nation then still walks the streets a free man. Even after this brute was led by Karma to his nemesis in the hands of another looting military brute, he still maintains a wierd air of aloofness, arrogance and bravado! His refusal to be contrite is yet another pointer to the tragedy of this contraption we call a nation!
