Man Rapes His 10-year-old Daughter In Maiduguri

SAN FRANCISCO, September 22, (THEWILL) - The Borno State Police Command, Monday in Maiduguri, the state capital, paraded a man, Idris Alli, who was arrested for allegedly raping his ten-year-old daughter.

The man, according to the State Police Commissioner, Adoda Clement, confessed to committing the crime at the Moduganari area of Maiduguri.

Three other suspects were paraded along with the man at the state Police Command Headquarters in Maiduguri. They included a 22-year-old man, Ahmadu Bajoga Bello, who allegedly killed one Abdullahi Saidu over a N200 debt he owed the deceased. Bello, who hails from Wuyaku village in Biu Local Government Area of the state, was said to have committed the offence in 2010 and thereafter fled to unknown destination.

The Police Commissioner said: 'The suspect, who was arrested on 31st of August, 2014 has since made confessional statement admitting to the offence. He divulged that his sordid act was over a debt of N200 he was owing the deceased.'

Also paraded was one Bana Kyari of Bolori Layout of Maiduguri for allegedly raping a three- year-old girl.

Meanwhile, one 24-year-old man, Abdulraman Iliyasu , has been arrested for allegedly killing an Immigration Officer, Stephen Musa Bassi, at the Pompomari area of Maiduguri.

The Police Commissioner said the man with another suspect still at large were hired as a POP decorator by their victim before he was killed.

'The duo buried him within the compound premises before escaping to an unknown destination. After an extensive and painstaking investigation and intelligence gathering by a team of detectives of the homicide section of the department of criminal investigation, led by ACP Tajudeen Aderinko, the principal suspect , one Abdulraman Iliyasu, aged 24, was eventually arrested in Kano, ' Police Commissioner said.

He disclosed that all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
