Assam Assam to Inaugurate Campaign Think-Tank

One of the front-line gubernatorial hopefuls in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Assam E. Assam will on Monday 1st September, 2014, at his home, in Eket inaugurate a high powered committee which will serve as a think-tank for the realization of his governorship aspiration come May 29, 2015.

A source who attended a private meeting over the weekend called by the Nigerian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus Amb. Assam, SAN himself said the meeting which was held in De Route Hotel, Eket was attended by 25 persons from each local government of Akwa Ibom State.

"The meeting though, was supposed to be attended by 25 persons each from the 31 local government, but some local government came with 25 to 30 members and were accommodated. They were asked to go and nominate 2 person each that will form part of the think-thank committee that will be inaugurated on Monday." The source said.

The source further told our reporter that the Monday inauguration will also witness the official declaration of intent by Chief Assam to run for the Hilltop Mansion top job in the State.

"Chief Assam will use this occasion to officially inform the people of Akwa Ibom State of his intention to run for the governorship race of the state." He said.
