There was serious pandemonium in the Nyanya area of Abuja, Nigeria's capital Thursday morning when a car suspected to be laden with explosive device was seen left unattended to in the middle of the road.

Online news portal, PREMIUM TIMES, reports that motorists and other passersby scampered for safety for fear the car might explode.

Soldiers moved in and started searching the vehicle which is a Peugeot 406.

“The driver just parked the car and left in a hurry, prompting soldiers nearby to be suspicious and people in traffic on seeing the soldiers surrounding the car began to run in different directions,” a commercial motorcyclist, who witnessed the confusion told PREMIUM TIMES.

Two deadly explosions had rocked the same Nyanya location in April and May this year, killing more than a hundred people and wounding several others.
