Senate President mourns General Aziza

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has lamented over the death of General Patrick Aziza whom he described as a dependable colleague,  a fine  officer and a gentleman .

Senator Mark stated that General Aziza was one of the best and fertile minds the Nigeria military  has ever produced.

He noted the positive contributions of General Aziza to the development of the country  pointing out that the late military officer unarguably excelled in all assignments he handled.

The Senate President added that even in the trying times in our nation's contemporary history, General Aziza was among military officers who stood to be counted on the premise that peace and unity of Nigeria must be held sacrosanct at all times.

” He was one of our best. He stood for the unity and indivisibility of Nigeria. He demonstrated unwavering commitment to the nation. He was a patriot to the core”, Senator Mark maintained.

Even on retirement , the Senate President added that General Azazi's people recognized his sterling qualities when they elected him President General of the  famous Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) in Delta state a position he held until his demise.

Senator Mark specifically condoled the government and people of Delta state especially the bereaved family praying that the almighty God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
