Pastor D.A Ilori, an Assistant General Overseer and a retired member of Governing Council of the church illustrated this point, yesterday, at the closing ceremony of the convention. He said this year's convention had been the best since the establishment of the church in 1952 despite all odds.

Called upon to usher in the first family to flag off the thanksgiving service at the closing ceremony, Pastor Ilori commended the faith, determination and courage of Pastor and Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye, saying 'we never had it so good, so excellent as this. May God honour you and shower more anointing to enable you overcome all the challenges of leadership.'

Pastor Ilori alluded to the clamour of people to either stop or postpone the convention because of a possible outbreak of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease, saying that God is in control. He extolled the virtues of all the 'assistant general overseers, special assistants and all those who had been holding the hands of our Daddy. May the good Lord uphold you till the end.'

The convention which started last Monday with the ordination of 8,622 deacons and deaconesses to assist the church leadership manage the astronomical growth within the last couple of years, yesterday featured a very colourful farewell service with the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, leading his biological and spiritual family in thanksgiving to God for the success of the programme.

Earlier, Mummy G.O. led a band of few senior pastors to anoint more than 1,000 men and women as pastors in the mission after the proclamation by Daddy G.O. himself: 'I anoint you pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. By this anointing, anything you….'

After the ordination, Special Assistant to the G.O. on Administration and Personnel and new member of the church's Governing Council, Pastor Johnson Odesola preached the only sermon of the day entitled, 'The seal of God', outlining some of the benefits of the seal to include deliverance, protection and preservation, guarantee the fatherhood of God and assurance of making Heaven.
