Statement From Abia State

Governor T.A. Orji while briefing newsmen today, reaffirmed that Justice Nnenna Otti still remains the Abia State Chief Judge. According to the Governor, "the status quo should remain while I go further to seek for a peaceful resolution between the House of Assembly and the Judiciary...The Chief Judge should continue doing her job as the Chief of Abia State"

However, the Governor also assured Abians of the measures already taken by the State to prevent the outbreak of Ebola disease in the State. He also stated that a committee has been set up with the commissioner for health as the head. Some health facility has been designated for treatment and equipment are being procured already as pre-emptive measures to tackle any outbreak.

At the same time, preventive awareness campaign has started in the State to educate people on several preventive methods more especially, the washing of hands with soap and clean water method etc.
